Our founding story
We built the tool we wished we had
As engineering leaders at companies like Meta and Indeed, we lived the pain of performance reviews. We spent weeks gathering subjective feedback and trying to justify decisions with simplistic metrics like story points or lines of code.
We saw firsthand that these metrics not only failed to capture the real work of senior engineers—the mentorship, the code reviews, the "glue work"—but they also created an environment of mistrust. This experience wasn't unique to us; it's a systemic problem in the industry.
Aude.ai was born from that frustration. We knew there had to be a way to get objective, holistic data without making our teams feel like they were being watched. That's our mission.
